Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) consisting of the full 44 amino acid sequence of endogenous GHRH with a trans-3-hexenoic acid moiety attached to the N-terminus for enhanced stability. It binds to pituitary GHRH receptors to stimulate natural pulsatile growth hormone release while preserving somatostatin feedback mechanisms. Research has investigated its applications in visceral-adiposity, lean-mass, lipid-metabolism, and cognitive-function research.
